8. Exporting TBX Files

Introduction

TermBase eXchange (TBX) is an international standard (ISO 30042:2008) for the representation of structured concept-oriented terminological data, co published by ISO and the Localization Industry Standards Association (LISA). More information can be found on various internet sites i.e. Wikipedia.

Passolo has no TBX export function. The TBX Export of the Traloctec Data Exchange Utility for Passolo is more versatile and can be configured with more options and exports more meta data from the translation list entries of the Passolo project.

TBX Export Options

By default, all entries are exported. Using the entry field Only export entries with less than x words the plugin is calculating the number of words per entry using internal Passolo functions and just exports translation units, where the number of words in the source entry is less than the entered number of words.

By default, only all entries are exported, that have the internal Passolo state Translated and Validated. Using the option Export non-validated string entries, the plugin will also export entries that have the internal Passolo state Pre-Translated (green), Machine Translated (AT), For Review (blue). Not translated entries (red) are not exported.

By default, entries are just exported once. When the option Export duplicate string entries is activated, duplicate entries with the same source text and the same translated text are exported again.

By default, Windows access keys (Ampersand & character in Windows menus, dialogs, .NET Winforms, and Delphi and the Underscore _ character in Microsoft WPF) are deleted from source and target text. When the option Delete access keys is deactivated, these characters will remain in the exported data.
